Restaurant SEO Denver
Show up when a hungry guest opens Maps.
A guest three blocks away is deciding where to eat right now, and the restaurant they pick is the one Google puts in front of them.
Detrás Co. runs restaurant SEO in Denver for independent operators. Google Business Profile, menu and on-page search, review velocity, and the AI answers that now sit above the map. We optimize for one number: how many people find you within three miles on a Thursday at six. The people running it have worked a floor. No junior account manager learning local search on your dime, and no retainer that reports impressions while your listing sits untouched.
Diners are already asking AI where to eat. The restaurants getting named back have current listings, real photos, and recent reviews. More on what that means for visibility in our breakdown of AI-driven search.
What it covers
Restaurant SEO in Denver: four levers, run every month
See the full breakdown of all seven services.
Where we start
An audit before a proposal.
Every engagement opens with a look at your live listing, the ten closest competitors inside three miles, and the exact queries your neighborhood searches. You get that read whether or not you hire us.
How it runs
The audit, then the monthly work
The opening audit is a written document. It covers your Google Business Profile field by field, your menu and the pages Google can read, the ten closest competitors inside three miles, the queries your block actually searches, and your review history over the last twelve months. You keep it either way.
From there the retainer runs four things every month:
Google Business Profile
Categories and attributes checked against the current Google list, hours kept right through holidays and season changes, the menu link live, and a weekly post. Duplicate listings found and merged.
Menu and on-page
Your menu as text Google can crawl, with dish names, cuisine terms, and neighborhood language on the page. Titles and descriptions written for the queries the audit found.
Reviews
A request built into your close-out or receipt flow, and a written reply to every review inside 48 hours, the hard ones included.
AI and listings
Name, address, phone, and hours matched across your site, your profile, and the directories AI assistants read, plus the structured data that lets them quote your menu.
What the audit reads like
A sample excerpt
Illustrative. Built from a composite Denver neighborhood restaurant, not a client, to show the format.
Google Business Profile
Primary category set to "Restaurant" where "Mexican Restaurant" fits the searches. Two secondary category slots open and unused. Hours show open Monday; the door is closed Mondays. Menu link points to a PDF. Last owner post: 8 months ago. One duplicate listing at the old address, unclaimed, holding 11 reviews.
Menu and on-page
Menu is a single JPEG. A search of the page for the three dishes guests name in reviews returns nothing. No title tag references the neighborhood. The address appears only inside an image in the footer.
Local field
Ten competitors inside three miles. Six carry more recent reviews. The query "mexican food near me" pulls a three-pack that leaves this restaurant out. "birria denver" and the neighborhood name plus "tacos" both show room to move.
Reviews
4.4 average across 180 reviews, 9 of them in the last 90 days. 41 sit unanswered, including all four one-star reviews from the past year.
Measurement
How we measure it
Every month you get the numbers we can act on: profile views and the searches behind them, direction requests and calls from the listing, clicks to the menu and the order button, review count and response rate, and position for the queries the audit named. We do not promise a rank. Google's local results move on relevance, distance, and prominence, and several of those inputs sit outside anyone's control, so we report the work, the leading signals, and the calls and orders that follow.
Service Area
The Denver metro area
Highland, RiNo, LoDo, Capitol Hill, Cherry Creek, Wash Park, Aurora, Lakewood, and the rest of the metro. That's our full focus right now.
Questions
Restaurant SEO, answered directly.
How do I get my restaurant on Google Maps?
Claim or create a Google Business Profile at google.com/business, then verify it. Google decides which verification methods a business is offered, usually some mix of video, phone, email, or a mailed code. Add real hours, a menu link, and photos before you verify, since a thin profile ranks poorly. Once it is verified the profile can appear on Maps, and where it ranks comes down to relevance, distance, and prominence.
Why is my restaurant not showing up on Google Maps?
Four usual causes: the profile is unverified, the category is wrong, your address or hours conflict with what other sites list, or a duplicate listing is splitting your signals. Check for duplicates first. Two listings for one restaurant will keep both of them buried. We fix this.
How do restaurants get recommended by ChatGPT?
AI assistants read the same sources local search does: your Google Business Profile, your website, review sites, and local press. Keep hours, menu, and address identical everywhere, and make sure your site says in plain text what you serve and where you are. More on AI search.
What is the difference between restaurant SEO and restaurant AEO?
Restaurant SEO gets your pages and your listing ranked in Google's results and the map pack. Restaurant AEO, or Answer Engine Optimization, gets your restaurant named inside the answer when a guest asks ChatGPT, Gemini, or AI Overviews where to eat. The signals overlap almost entirely, so most restaurants run both together. How restaurant AEO works.
How long before restaurant SEO actually moves the needle?
Listing and review work can show up in the map pack in 30 to 60 days. Organic rankings for competitive Denver terms take two to three quarters of consistent work. Anyone promising faster is selling something.
We already have a Google Business Profile. Is that enough?
Having one is the floor. Ranking comes from the parts most owners skip: correct categories, a linked menu, weekly posts, fresh photo uploads, and a steady stream of recent reviews.
Can you do the search work without the rest of the marketing?
Yes. Local SEO is one of seven services and it can be scoped on its own. Most operators add photo and review work next, since both feed the same listing.
Does this work for a bar with no food menu?
Yes, and the search terms are different. Nightlife, events, and happy hour queries behave their own way, which we cover on our Denver bar marketing page.

Search sends people to the mobile site and ordering work, and what greets them there is your photography and video and your hospitality copywriting.
